URGENT: Dress for Tonight

The following email communication was received this afternoon.
“Commanding Officers
We are sadly aware of the serious events which are still unfolding in Ottawa today.
As we each take seriously our collective responsibility to protect our cadets and staff from any real or apparent safety threats, all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and security of our Cadets and staff is our top priority at all times.
CO are advised that wearing of civilian dress by officers and cadets to local unit training is recommend for this evening.  If as CO you believe it is in the unit’s best interest to cancel parade night, the Det will support your decision.
The Det is holding off on the institutional response until we get HHQ direction, but that does not preclude local decision-making. I expect we will have that HHQ direction imminently.”
Maj Sainsbury, Det London Commander
  • DRESS FOR THIS EVENING will be CIVILIAN. If you have black pants, white shirt & a tie – this is the best option. Otherwise, clean dress/khaki pants/dark jeans and a collared shirt and tie is required.

Training will continue as planned until further direction is received. A minute of silence for Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, 24 will be held as part of our closing parade. Parents are welcome to join us.

Feedback, Questions or Concerns from Cadets

Do you wish to provide feedback or have a question or a concern that needs to be
addressed regarding your time in Cadets? Your feedback is important to us and there are
a number of ways to have your voice heard:
Option 1 – Talk to an adult staff member at your Corps or Squadron. They are best
equipped to help you out!
Option 2 – Talk to your parents or guardians and have them book an appointment to see
your Commanding Officer if you don’t believe that things are getting better.
Option 3 – Either you, your parents or your guardians can contact the Regional Cadet
Support Unit (RCSU). Their contact information is located by province at
http://www.cadets.ca/en/contact-us page.
Option 4 – If you are still having trouble finding someone to talk to or feel that your
points need to be heard at the national level, you can contact us online by using our
feedback form at http://www.cadets.ca/en/feedback.page. Remember, we can’t get in
touch with you for more information or to let you know what steps we’ve taken to
address your feedback, questions or concerns if you don’t provide us your contact

Bottle Drive: Msg from Sponsoring Committee Chairman

Good morning all,

Well another bottle drive is in the books, the turnout from Cadets & Parents & Staff & SSC was great, there was lots of cooperation between everybody & the whole day went well.

We had the Beer Store overwhelmed with 3 trucks packed to the hilt, it was all they could handle. We still have at least ¾ of a truck load stored at VanNoorts  quanset hut which we will have to get to the Beer Store on Tuesday evening. We will be loading them on the Truck @ 4:00 in the afternoon for a return to the Depot at 5:00, if anyone is available to help that would be great, many hands make a big job seem small.

It is too early to tell how much money we made this time, but I’m sure that this will be a record breaker for us.

THANKS to everyone involved, Staff, Cadets, Parents, SSC members, Rob & Sharon VanNoort, Stu Sherlock at Niagara Motors and of course last but not least our very generous town of N.O.T.L it is a great pleasure working with all of you.

Thankyou,

Scott Ruttan
