Winter Bottle Drive

A big thanks to all of the cadets, parents, sponsorship committee members and staff who came out and worked hard to make our Winter Bottle Drive a success. We should hear back with some final numbers sometime this week.

Also, special thanks go out to VanNoort Florists for supporting us with a sorting area and with trucks for delivering the bottles to The Beer Store’s distribution centre.

All of your contributions are essential to helping us deliver a great program for the youth of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Thank you!

Bottle Drive Tomorrow!

Our second bottle drive of the training year is tomorrow at VanNoort Greenhouses at the corner of Hunter and Four Mile Creek Roads in Niagara-on-the-Lake. We will start promptly at 0900h (9am) and we need all cadets, and as many parent volunteers as possible, on board. Please remember that this is a mandatory fundraising activity and that attendance cheques will be cashed for those cadets not present.

  • DRIVERS: We need drivers! Please bring in your valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance, pick up your car magnets, driving route, and cadets;
  • SORTERS: We need sorters for the entire day. It’s dirty job, but worth every penny. (Or it it nickel now?) We have people who know how it works, so find someone who looks like they know what they’re doing and they’ll show you the ropes;
  • CADETS: It’s a cold day, so WEAR YOUR WINTER COAT, GLOVES, and cadet toque. We’re supposed to go down to -9°C tomorrow, so don’t under-dress. You’ll be outside for the majority of the day.

We will be providing lunch for everyone helping out, and there will be coffee/tea on-site as well for our adult volunteers.

Bring your excitement and enthusiasm! We are looking forward to a fantastic fundraising event.

Cadet Tag Days – Autumn 2017

Our semi-annual Cadet Tag Days fundraiser is once again upon us!

Cadets will be posted in various prominent areas of the town over the weekend, soliciting public support for our program. Make sure you are on time for your shift and wearing your uniform. The weather forecast is dry with temperatures in the single digits. Cadets can decide if they want to wear turtlenecks (C3) or dress shirt and tie (C2) based on the temperature. Parka is recommended.

Lunch will be provided for those cadets participating for the entire day on Saturday. Arrive five minutes before your shift time.

Staff will be on-site at the squadron to facilitate departure. Parent volunteers should come in with their cadets and will need to provide a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.

Cadet Tag Days – Drivers Wanted

At the risk of sounding like a Volkswagen commercial, we need parent volunteers to get cadets to and from their tag day shifts on the 2nd and 3rd of December. Please see me tonight or on Wednesday if you’re available to help. Thank you in advance for your assistance!
