Camp Wetaskiwin is a Scout facility that the Niagara units of the Canadian Cadet Organization heavily rely upon to support their training requirements. Due to lack of funding this amazing facility is starting to fall into disrepair.
We, as a community, have an opportunity to express our gratitude for supporting the development of thousands of our youth both inside and out of the Canadian Cadet Organization. I encourage everyone to participate to ensure this facility is available for future generations.
For the Senior Cadets attending the Rafting Trip this weekend.
Please visit http://www.owl-mkc.ca/owl/ and review the content under the Info menu. This will give you an idea of what to pack. Take note that we don’t have much room for luggage, so please pack as light as possible.
BRING YOUR PACKED KIT TO CADETS ON WEDNESDAY! That way you won’t have to lug everything to school on Friday.
Bug Spray and Sunscreen are probably two of the most critical items.
The temperature of the water this time of year is around 65 deg F. Owl does offer the rental of wetsuits at the following costs:
They also have a limited variety store on sight for snacks and such.
Logistical Points of Note
Departure from Niagara will be no later than 1:00PM
Muster Points and Pick up locations will be fully determined on Wednesday (though we expect to be able to pick most of you up from you respective school, we need to confirm).

Sunday’s return will include lunch prior to departure and dinner by own means. Depending on times we may or may not stop, but expect to return around 7:00PM (phone will be available for advance parental notification)

Monday Night Trg:
Drill Team 7-8pm (bring your wedge and boots)
Sports 8-9pm –> Dress appropriately: want to be on the Squadron Sports Teams for the NAG Sports Competition this month? Come out this week. Volleyball, Handball, Soccer – all the sports we need to practice in order to crush the competition.
LOTTERY TICKETS: do you want to put your name in the draw for two movie tickets (incl. popcorn and drinks)? Then come on by the office and pick up another book of tickets to be sold. For each extra book sold, your name will go into the draw one more time.
Good Morning All,
In the festivities of our recent (and very successful) mess dinner, we probably didn’t communicate the details of the NOTL Santa Claus Parade. So for those that missed it or need confirmation please see below:
Be aware that our spot in the parade is very close to the front, and as such we generally finish the parade before Santa himself has started moving. So if you plan on watching the parade please advise your cadet where you will be, to ensure a timely pick up.
Please take a strong cautionary note that traffic becomes incredibly congested and impossible to navigate starting around 10:00am. If you plan on viewing the parade I would suggest arriving early to find parking. Otherwise setting up a drop off and pick up location a few blocks away from the core may allow you to get in or out a little easier.
See everyone tomorrow morning. Bring your Christmas Cheer (despite the weather)!
This is a reminder for all Level 3 cadets.
Wednesday 10 December, 2014 will be your first opportunity to demonstrate your instructional abilities through an assigned lesson. For those of you that missed the lecture last week please ensure you see LT Russell at some point during the parade night tonight (Wed 3-Dec-2014) to get an overview of expectations and receive your assigned lesson.
All level 3 cadets are expected to advise Lt Russell on all the resources they will require during the lesson. Every class should require a minimum of 1 training aid.
Please come see Lt Russell with any questions or concerns about your assignment.
