GLIDING SUN 5 JUN 16

Join us for our final gliding date this training year.

Meet at the NOTL Airport at 1pm at the terminal building. DO NOT ENTER THE AIRPORT TAXIWAY/RUNWAY area without being escorted by Staff personnel from SOGC (Gliding Centre).

Dress: Civilian.

Timings: 1pm-4pm

Bring: hat, sunscreen, something to do while waiting for your flight, backpack, snack

Summer Training Co-Op Credit Opportunity

Colleagues and League Partners,

 The attached document provides a detailed outline and FAQs regarding the Ontario Cadet Summer Training Co-op Credit Opportunity offered in Central Region for summer 2016.  Please give widest possible distribution to staff and cadets at all Central Region corps and squadrons, and to their supporting ACOs/ACAs.  Cadets need to initiate the registration process with the school board ASAP once they have accepted an eligible ‘Offer of Participation’, and before the end of June.  Full information and links are included in the 2-page attachment.

 League Partners, please feel free to distribute through your lines and/or post this content on your websites.

Banquet Numbers and Payment due TONIGHT

We welcome your family and your cadet(s) to join us for the Annual Ceremonial Review Cadet Awards Banquet, on Fri 3 June, 2016 at the NOTL Community Centre. 630pm arrival for 7pm dinner.

Cadets are free, siblings (under 12 years of age) are $10 each and adults/siblings 12 & over are $15 each.  Please make sure you include your cadet in your RSVP.

Dress is semi-formal. No uniforms!

Final numbers for this event must be confirmed by TODAY!!!!! RSVPs received after this point cannot be accepted.

RSVP to the evite – it was sent out from EVITE.COM last weekend. Check your inbox.

All tickets are VIRTUAL – when you RSVP to the evite, you will be added to the dinner. Cheques can be made payable to 809 Newark Sqn. Cash is also accepted. Payment is due ASAP.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

·         Employees from Aerospace,

OBJECTIVES:

WIA Career Day is to provide an interactive and experiential full day event during which you can attend a series of Panel discussions, Displays, Tours and Networking activities offered to increase awareness of career opportunities and pathways in all fields related to aerospace, defence and space sectors. The focus of the Panel discussions will be the transferability of skills across the myriad of careers.

·         Meet, engage and network with peers, industry, academia and youth

·         Increase your awareness of Aerospace, Defence & Space careers and pathways to achieve

·         Establish new and build on existing relationships

Don’t forget: 545pm meet at the Squadron to board the bus. Everyone is expected to attend!

Advanced Party with Capt Palumbo & CI Thiffault will be on the ground in Cave Springs by 1pm. You can reach Capt Palumbo on her cell: 289-783-1942. This is also the EMERGENCY contact # for the weekend.

Weather is looking ok – some rain tomorrow morning, but nothing expected overnight. Bring your raincoat and rubber boots – or waterproof shoes (or two pairs and a plastic bag).

Remember: we have so much fun lined up for you this weekend. Canoeing, archery, GPS Geocaching, hiking, Orienteering, Camp Crafts, Sports, Firepit, and yes you’ll be eating MREs all weekend. Come out and spend some time with everyone from the Niagara Air Group.

FTX Advanced Party

ALL CADETS except the Advanced Party are expected to EAT BEFORE ARRIVING for the bus at 545pm.

Only the cadets listed below are permitted on the Advanced Party for the FTX. Timings are as follows: (you must be logged in to view)

CI Thiffault – to pick up

All to meet at Cave Springs at 1pm. There will be time to change when we arrive. Dinner is provided ONLY for the Advanced Party.

NAG FTX 13-14-15 MAY 2016

ANNEX E CADET KIT LIST

It’s finally time for the NAG FTX 2016 – this wknd at Cave Springs Camp, Jordan.

BUS will depart from 809 Squadron at 1800hrs (6pm). You will need to arrive NLT 1745hrs (545pm).  Bus returns to Sqn on Sunday at 1600hrs (4pm).

Check the kit list above to make sure you have everything you need. Dress for the wknd is either FTU (as per the website under dress regs) or CIVILIAN. No mixing of the two.

Staff Cadet assignments will be handed out tonight.

If you plan to attend this wknd, SIGN UP tonight. DO NOT miss the list – and if you sign up, make sure you show up.

We are going to be having lots of fun – make sure you are prepared for full days of fun with your friends from 809 and all the other Niagara Air Group (NAG) units: 23 St Catharines, 62 Grimsby, 79 Port Colborne, 87 Welland, 126 Niagara Falls, 128 Thorold, 337 Fort Erie, 611 Dunnville.

We are the HOST unit for the weekend – so Senior Cadets, bring your “A” game.
