St. Michael’s School Visit

Tomorrow morning at 910am, Capt Palumbo and two cadets  will be making a recruiting presentation to the Grade 6, 7, & 8 students at St. Michael’s school in NOTL. Dress is uniform (C-2).

Duties include: speaking for approx 2 mins about their favourite aspects of the cadet program, distributing promotional material, answering questions as appropriate. The presentation will include 2 videos.

Parents: if there are additional cadets that can miss school for this important presentation, please let Capt Palumbo know. Cadets need to arrange their own transportation to/from the school – presentations will be approximately 20 mins long for 3 groups. We should be completed and ready to leave by 1045am.

Monday Night Training

Don’t forget:

Drill Team 7-8pm wear your drill boots & wedge with civilian clothing. Everyone needs to be out so we can really get the details down in the silent routine (Capt Palumbo will be coming for a preview).

SPORTS 8-9pm for ALL Cadets participating at the Sports competition this coming Sat, the 28th in Dunnville. DRESS IS SPORTS CLOTHING – no jeans. Running shoes required. FYI: Capt Palumbo *might* have challenged (read taunted) 62 Sqn at the NAG mtg last week. SO we need you out to defend our previous titles! And volleyball members: bad news, this year the rules will not change. Good news: next year they will be updated – thx to all who sent in your input.

There will be NO other training taking place on Monday night – the classrooms will be closed.

THANK YOU to all who helped out at the NOTL Ice Wine Festival tonight – we were in and out within 30 mins. Many hands truly makes light work – attendance was recorded.

Ice Wine Festival

We have met our quota for volunteers for tomorrow: thanks to the following people for stepping up to the challenge: (you have to be signed in to see the list)

Thank you for giving some of your own time to help support NOTL and the Squadron.

URGENT – Volunteers needed for Tomorrow!!

We still need a few cadets for tomorrow evening – 5pm at the Clock Tower in NOTL. To help with the tear down of the Ice Wine Festival.

PARENTS can help too – bring your cadet for an hour and lend a hand. All helpers are appreciated (but only the cadets will get official volunteer hours for school).

Send a msg to Capt Palumbo – tammypalumbo@yahoo.ca or 289-783-1942 if you can come out. Thank you in advance!

SUNDAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We need 5 cadets to volunteer an hour of their time on Sunday, January 22nd at 5pm.

Meet at the clock tower downtown. Dress is civilian with cadet toques. Dress appropriate for the weather – we will be outside.

Time will count toward high school volunteer hour requirements. CI Thiffault will meet you at the clock tower and take attendance.

SEND YOUR AVAILABILITY TO CAPT PALUMBO via text msg – 289-783-1942. Include your last name. Thx!

NAG Sports Competition – TRANSPORTATION UPDATE

All day NAG SPORTS COMPETITION SAT 28th of JAN. NEW TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION:

Bus leaves promptly at 7am from the THOROLD SQUADRON LHQ – at Trinity United Church in Thorold. Google map link here: 128 Sqn LHQ.

It takes about 20 mins to get to Thorold from our LHQ – plan your travel accordingly. We do NOT have a bus leaving from 809 – carpool to Thorold is the best we can do (better than parent drivers to Dunnville). Pick up will be at 515pm in Thorold.

If you are having trouble finding a ride to/from Thorold, please let Capt Palumbo know TONIGHT so we can make suitable arrangments.

Bring everything you need for a day of sports. Backpack, music, book, snack.

3 teams – volleyball, handball, soccer. 5-7 players per team. Max 21 cadets. Lunch is provided.
