One of the many exciting activities available to cadets is marksmanship, colloquially known as “range” in our program. This gives cadets a chance to gain establish and hone their skills with an air rifle. It begins with being taught to properly handle the rifle and progresses to the cadet firing, with officer supervision, at a target 10m down the range.
Every year, we send a six-cadet range team to compete in the Zone Range Competitions. Tonight is the opportunity for cadets who have completed their level’s marksmanship training to try out for the team. The six cadets with the best scores comprise the team and will return to practice each Monday evening (except for Family Day on the 19th) until the Zone 7/8 Competition in St. Catharines on the 4th of March.
Range Team Tryout is at 1900-2100 (7pm-9pm)
Dress standard for the practice is jeans, squadron t-shirt, running shoes and squadron ball cap (optional).
