Hello 809. On Wednesday night we’ll be conducting a CO’s parade and inspection. Get your blues up to standard and be ready. So, shine your boots, press your uniform and have your appropriate badges sewn on. Also, it’s the first parade night in February. Make sure to have money with you if you need to purchase a new canteen card.

1. Monday Evening Optional Training – 30 January – Effective Speaking and Aviation

When: 1830-2115
Where: Squadron HQ
Dress: Appropriate Civilian Attire

Effective Speaking:

Cadets should have an outline with clear main points and supporting points for each main point of their speech. Some of you are already at the editing stage, others are just starting their speeches. This work period to allow you another opportunity to work on your speeches. You are expected to bring whatever you need in order to complete this task ex: laptops or tablets.

2. 126/809 RCACS Mixed Drill Team

Drill team will proceed this week. We had a lot of fun the week before last. I encourage everyone that has an interest in drill to take part:

When: Thursday, February 2 1830h-2030h
Where: River View Public School, 3300 Cattell Drive, Niagara Falls
Dress: Appropriate Civilian Attire

3. Canteen Cards for Sale

This Wednesday is the first Wednesday of the month. Canteen cards will be on sale. One card is $20.00. Please see Mrs. Lett upon arrival to the squadron.

4. Winter Gala

128 Squadron has invited all the squadrons and corps in the Niagara Garrison to attend the Niagara Cadet Winter Gala. This is a semi-formal dinner and dance where cadets can socialize. Cost is $30.00 per person. Here’s the info:

When: Thursday, February 11 1730h-1100h

1730h – Doors open
1815h – Dinner will be served
2000h – Dance will start
2230h – Cleanup
2300h – Doors close

Where: 128 Squadron – Trinity United Church, 15 Pine Street South, Thorold
Dress: Semi-Formal or Mess Dress (C2)
Officer Requirement: One Staff member escort for every 20 cadets
