Cadets and Staff of 809 Sqn will be participating in a Vigil in honour of our veterans on Sunday 10 Nov 13 from 730pm until the end of the parade in NOTL on Monday 11 Nov 13.

Cadets will meet at the Squadron HQ on Sunday evening, which will consist of: flag party drill, uniform prep & an evening snack. Monday morning will consist of: 6am wake-up for first shift and breakfast. Cadets will sleep at the Sqn HQ. (Bring your own sleeping bag, air mattress, pillow, toiletries)

Vigil officially begins on site at the clock tower in NOTL at 645am. Dress is C-1 (with medals, white belts, gloves).

Parents: we need volunteers to drive cadets to and from the clock tower in NOTL beginning at 630am. This will repeat every 30 mins as each shift of cadets changes. It will continue until 10am at which time we will need additional drivers to transport the remaining cadets to the parade venue.

The parade will run from approx 1045am until 1130am. At this time the cadets will be needed to attend the next ceremony in Queenston. The cadets will be provided lunch from the Legion (usually chili).

School excuse notes will be sent home this week. Please ensure that your cadet takes one to his or her teacher and/or principal.

** Some cadets have already indicated that they have been asked by their school to participate in a ceremony at school. This is ok – but we would still like to have them participate in the vigil first, and then attend school in their uniform for their service. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Capt Palumbo**
