This is considered part of your mandatory training and is meant to teach you about the traditions of the Royal Canadian Air Force. It also gives you the opportunity to take part in a social event that centers around the cadets of 809 squadron.
Dress for the occasion will be C2, which means the following. Please note that name tags are to not permitted to be warn:
There is a sign up for the event on our website. It’s important that you indicate your intention to join us for the eventing.
Parental Assistance Sign-Up
Parents have traditionally volunteered to assist in the event by acting as servers for the evening. We’re looking for 6 parents to sign up to help out.
This is event is considered to be part of your mandatory training, so we expect to see everyone there. Per normal procedures, if you can’t make it, you need to notify the squadron of your absence.
We look forward to seeing everyone for fun and social time
1. Monday Evening Optional Training – 19 December – Effective Speaking and Aviation

Dress: Appropriate Civilian Attire
Duty Officer: Lt Couroux
Mrs Gowans has indicated that you’ll be practicing your impromptus. She’s also asked that you hand in your completed speeches as well.
FSgt Vidal will be running an aviation class. This is a great introduction to anyone considering becoming a pilot later in their cadet career, or if you just have an interest. This week, you’ll be presenting your favourite planes.

Drill Team has been cancelled until the new year. More information to follow as it’s received.

Our first fundraiser for 2023 is coming up January 7. This activity helps provide funds so that the squadron can operate and run the training program. All cadets are expected to participate and we’re also asking that parents/guardians take part as well.
For more information, or if you have questions, please reach out to either myself or Mr Cory Abt, our SSC Chair. There is also information posted on our website:
