The cadets of 809 Newark Squadron have the privilege of assisting the Royal Canadian Legion with their annual Poppy Campaign. This campaign collects funds that will be used to support veterans and their families with medical and other costs. Cadets will work in pairs and will be asked to offer poppies for a donation at Phil’s Valu-Mart on Saturday, 3 Nov 18 and Saturday, 10 Nov 18.

Dress
C3

Cold weather and rain are concerns for this weekend, so cadets should bring their parkas and toques for use as needed. Double-check all of your uniform parts and make sure that they fit. If they don’t, or anything is missing, be sure to see CV Carbone on Wednesday evening.

Shifts
Four shifts of two hours each are on the schedule. They are 1000-1200 (10am-12pm) and 1200-1400 (12pm-2pm) on Saturday, 3 Nov 18 and Saturday, 10 Nov 18. Two cadets are requested for each shift.

Sign-up Sheets
3 Nov 18 (Two Shifts: 1000-1200, 1200-1400)
10 Nov 18 (Two Shifts: 1000-1200, 1200-1400)

Details
Capt Lemoine or another member of staff will make sure that cadets receive their boxes and poppies and will collect them at the end of the shift. Parents should drop their cadets off at Phil’s Valu-Mart 10 minutes before the beginning of their shift and pick them up at the same location at the end of their shift.
