Captain Brian Howard, CD Memorial Award (Squadron Warrant Officer)

Description

This award was named for Captain Brian Howard, CD on the occasion of the squadron’s 40th anniversary. Captain Howard was a former Commanding Officer of 809 Newark RCACS and exemplified the long-standing service and dedication required of a Commanding Officer to their squadron to ensure its current and future success.

In 2021, we received the sad news that Captain Howard had passed away after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. We will always remember the dedication he had to 809 Squadron and to the Air Cadet Program as a whole.

This award is presented each year to the Squadron Warrant Officer in recognition of their constant and consistent service as a leader and mentor to their cadets.
