Parent Volunteers for Annual Mess Dinner

As discussed last Wednesday, we are requesting six (6) more parents to volunteer to help serve at the Annual Mess Dinner and to help clean up afterwards. Servers should wear black pants and white shirts for the event.

Monday Night Training

Drill Team – 7-8pm – make sure you’re there! We need all hands on deck for our silent routine practice. Dress: civilian with parade boots and wedge.

Sports/Flight Club – 8-9pm

NATIONAL COURSE NARRATIVES: Please send them in for proof-reading – email Capt Palumbo: Tammy.Palumbo@cadets.gc.ca  All natiional course applications are due THIS WEDNESDAY night at the Mess Dinner. 

NOTL Christmas Parade – was a HUGE success! Special thanks to Mr. Ruttan for the use of his trailer for our float, to CI Thiffault and Mr Zalepa for float prep on Friday afternoon, and to Mr Hendriks for driving the float in the parade. Our Cadets looked FANTASTIC with their elf hats on – if you have photos please send them to Capt Palumbo.

MESS DINNER on Wednesday: do you still need a bowtie? Capt Palumbo has one left – $7 each, you can pay on Wed night. Check out the dress regulations here: C8. NO headdress (wedge), and YES wear your name tag. Meet at the Virgil Fire Hall on 1391 Concession 6 Rd in NOTL at 630pm. Dinner begins at 7pm. Cadets are asked to wait in the foyer – they will be formally asked to come into the dining area. Parent volunteers can go straight to the kitchen – dress is white top, black bottoms for serving.

As an FYI, Capt Palumbo will not be into the office this evening. Capt Lemoine will be on-site for any pertinent questions/concerns.

Mess Dinner Tonight!

Don’t forget: tonight is the 7th Annual Mess Dinner. We are having it at the new Virgil Fire Hall on Concession 6 (near the roundabout). Do NOT go to the Squadron.

TIMINGS: 630pm-9pm

DRESS: C-8 (see website under dress regulations for numbered orders of dress pictures)

PARENTS: if you are helping in the kitchen with CI Thiffault, please wear white dress shirt and black pants. Meet in the kitchen at 615pm.

PMC & VPMC: FSgt Lavoie & AC Abt – meet Capt Palumbo at 615pm in the main hall. All other cadets are to WAIT IN THE ANTE ROOM where the couches are until you are asked to find your seats.

SET-UP begins at 430pm – if you can help, come on out. Capt Palumbo will need it!

Mess Dinner Tonight!

Don’t forget: Mess Dress C-8 for tonight. Arrive no later than 1825 for dinner please.

Dinner is at GRACE UNITED CHURCH HALL, 222 Victoria St, NOTL (do not go to the cadet hall, there won’t be anyone there!)

Mess Dinner

Reminders to parent volunteers, staff and cadets for this Wednesday’s Mess Dinner.

Servers

Please wear black pants or skirt and a white shirt.

Kitchen Staff

Please bring an apron and a hat in order to comply with food service regulations.

CADETS

Read here:  Mess Dinner Seating Plan 2014 and High Flight – one cadet will be asked upon arrival on Wednesday night to read High Flight before the dinner. If you would like to be chosen, practice reading it, and present yourself to Lt Russell when you arrive on Wed.

PMC – FSgt Chikombero VPMC – Cdt Gowans. Meet Lt Russell upon arrival on Wed for a quick briefing as to expectations for Wed night’s dinner. Read PMC and VPMC document for help.

All cadets: Read this Mess Dinner Etiquette so that you understand the importance of the Mess DInner and its traditions. Be prepared to “sing for your supper” as required!

Mess Dinner Wed

Please remember for the Mess Dinner that the dress is C-8. Hair cuts for males (and shave). Females: get creative. Off the collar and up is all that is required (unless you do the double braid). NO headdress is to be worn with this order of dress.

Black Bow Ties can be purchased at Out of the Past in St. Catharines for those of you who still need one. (Thanks to Mrs. Gowans for passing on the info).
