Squadron Effective Speaking Competition

The Squadron Effective Speaking Competition is tonight! We’re all excited to hear what the cadets have prepared for us. The competition starts at 7pm, and we are expecting guests to show up around 6:45pm. Parents, other relatives, and friends are all welcome to attend.

For those cadets participating, remember to bring your signed forms so that we can submit them to the Air Cadet League.

Effective Speaking Competition

For those cadets participating in next week’s Effective Speaking Competition, the form that you were given last night was incomplete. It turns out that the proper form has two sides and the one you were given only has one. The complete form that needs to be filled out for next week is at the following link:

In addition, Mrs. Gowans has asked me to post a few items as reminders from this week’s training session.

First, a link to last year’s competition so that cadets can view it and get ideas and pointers from watching previous entries.

2017 Prepared Finals

Second, a the Effective Speaking Workshop Presentation, especially slides 13-24.

Effective Speaking

Just a reminder that the first of our Effective Speaking preparation nights takes place tonight at 2000h (8:00pm) after Drill Team practice. This is a skill that will serve you well for your entire life, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to pick up on it now. We don’t have a lot of time before the competition, so all cadets are encouraged to come out and get as much preparation in as possible.
